Expect Distribution, Projex Solutions and Exa Networks are finalists in the Employer of the Year category at the Bradford Means Business Awards 2021

Expect Distribution

Expect’s approach to logistics focuses on reliability, flexibility and profitability for the businesses they serve.

For over 30 years the family-run business has meet the needs of commerce and industry all over the UK.

The company has 130 vehicles across four sites and employs in excess of 300 people.

When the country first went into lockdown, for Expect is was “carry on as normal” as the firm had drivers delivering medicine, food and hand sanitiser.

They said: “Even though there may have been doubt in their mind as to what they were coming into every day and what was going on in the wider world, they were absolutely magnificent.”

Projex Solutions

Formed in 2006, Projex Solutions has grown into a team of experienced and skilled engineers across both of its offices, including one at Brighouse. The firm offers a range of engineering consultancy, engineering design and project management services.

They work on projects varying in scope and scale, implementing contracts while still maintaining costs and sticking to timeframes. And they did so despite challenges with remote working.

They said: “I feel so proud of what everybody’s done. We pulled together.”

Exa Networks

The firm delivers bespoke internet services, working with thousands of schools and business across the UK to bring complete customisability. As a leading independent ISP for education, they offer a full range of connectivity options for schools.

They are one of the only ISPs who work with businesses to accommodate their different requirements, providing bespoke service packages.

During lockdown, Exa held a virtual Christmas party and had sessions with comedians on Zoom for their staff.

They said: “Humans thrive off interaction so we wanted to engage with them.”
