A NUMBER of items including an axe and knuckleduster were found by police in a car which crashed into a tree, killing all four men on board.

Murtza Chaudhry, 21, and passengers Arbaaz Hussain, 21, Zeeshan Khalid, 20 and Tayyab Siddique, 22, all died when their car hit a tree on Toller Lane in 2018.

Mr Chaudhry was driving a grey BMW at speed down Bingley Road just after 5.30am on Thursday, August 2, 2018, with Mr Hussain in the front passenger seat, Mr Siddique in the rear off-side passenger seat, and Mr Khalid in the near-side passenger seat.

But when police officers attended the scene of the crash, a host of weapons were found inside the grey BMW.

Detective Sergeant Fiona Allen today told the inquest that an axe was found near the car but could not be linked to any of the occupants.

She said another axe was found in a footwell and a knuckleduster was on the rear seat. The detective said small amounts of cocaine and cannabis were also found.

A hammer was also found at the scene.

The inquest, expected to last up to five days, was adjourned and will continue at 10am tomorrow.
