ONE person was arrested yesterday after they took police on a car chase before dumping their vehicle and legging it.

The vehicle was spotted by officers in Bradford on Sunday by officers, and failed to stop for police when requested to.

A pursuit resulted with the car in question, a black Volkswagen, attempting to evade the police’s clutches.

Eventually, the two occupants of the car abandoned their vehicle and tried to make their escape on foot, but they were both caught and detained by police, with one of the people taken into custody.

The successful chase was conducted by officers taking part in a joint operation between Operation Steerside, the Roads Policing Unit, Bradford East Neighbourhood Policing Team and Special Constables.
