POLICE seized a “petrol powered pushbike” and reported the person riding it yesterday after spotted the homemade machine in Bradford.

Officers from Bradford West Neighbourhood Policing Team and Operation Steerside spotted the bike, a modified mountain bike which had been fitted with an engine, drivetrain, petrol tank and exhaust, in Cemetery Road, Lidget Green.

The Steerside Enforcement Team said: “If you stick a petrol engine in there then it needs to be registered and requires a licence and insurance.

“The rider had neither. Seized and reported for offences.”

A second bike was also seized yesterday after being spotted in Legrams Lane.

The yellow motorbike was flagged up on the police system as having no insurance, and when the rider was stopped they admitted to having no licence or insurance.

The bike was also seized and the rider was reported for the offences.
