A FAMILY who have been left "inconsolable" by the disappearance of their dog are appealing to the public for help in finding him.

The family's five-month-old puppy, who is called Ziggy and is pictured above, "ran off on a walk" at around 8.30am on Saturday, 4 September and "has not been seen since", they say.

Ziggy went missing in Ravenscliffe Woods, close to the entrance near Ravenscliffe Road and Crowther Avenue.

Buster's Animal SOS Team, who have contacted all the relevant services on behalf of the family, said "the family are in the middle of a bereavement and are just inconsolable".

"Ravenscliffe Woods is on the border of Bradford and Leeds, near Calverley. Extensive searches have taken place in the surrounding areas, but have not proved successful", it was added.

"We believe Ziggy has been picked up or stolen. The family are devastated."

Anyone who sees Ziggy or has any information is asked to contact 07931175135, 07815592944 or 07860626456.

Anyone who sees him is advised not to "shout or chase", but to ring one of these phone numbers and "keep watching".

A "significant finder's fee" is also on offer in return.
