PLANS for big changes at a popular pub have been submitted to Kirklees Council.
The plans, submitted by Six Lane Ends Motor Company, would see part of Six Lane Ends Public House in Leeds Road, Heckmondwike, turned into a storage facility, and part of it demolished to make way for a two-storey extension with storage on the bottom floor and flats on the top.
If approved, it means the pub would shut to be used instead as storage, with part of the building knocked down to make way for a new storage area and two two-bedroom flats.
In the plan it says operating Six Lane Ends Pub is “no longer viable due to Covid-19” and the changes would be a “efficient” use of the property.
It said “diversification of the site” was considered to try and keep the pub open but no plans would work in the “current climate”.
