A RESTAURANT on a main route into Bradford has applied to extend its late night opening time by two hours.

Howdy, on Leeds Road, currently closes at 11pm. Now the wild west-inspired eaterie, well-known for its steaks and gourmet burgers, has applied to stay open until 1am.

Bradford Council has given notice of a number of temporary road and footpath closures due to various utility works.

Gas works on or near Silwood Drive, Eccleshill means that no-one can proceed along public footpath number 220 (Bradford North), Eccleshill from its junction with Silwood Drive to its junction with Delveme Grove.

Alternative routes for pedestrians affected by the proposed order will be via Delveme Grove, Moorside Road, Harrogate Road, Silwood Drive and vice versa.

The proposed order will come into effect at 8am today and remain in force until 6pm on Friday October 1.

Work on the telecommunications network on or near Carr Bottom Road, Greengates, will lead to the closure of Carr Bottom Road from its junction with New Line to its junction with Bateson Street.

This will come into effect at 9pm tomorrow until 6am on Wednesday September 15 and continue at 9pm on Wednesday September 15 until 6am on Thursday September 16.

Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times. Alternative routes for traffic will be available via New Line, Elder Street, Ash Grove, Carr Bottom Road - the unaffected section - and vice versa.

Utility works to be carried out on or near Deny Hill, Menston, has resulted in the temporary closure of the length of Deny Hill at a point outside 2 Deny Lane to a point outside 1 Deny Lane. This will come into effect at 8am today and remain in force until 6pm on Friday September 17. Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.

Alternative routes for traffic will be via Deny Hill - the unaffected section - Main Street, Bingley Road and vice versa.

Electrical works on or near Tong Street (the slip road), Bradford, has necessitated the temporary closure of Tong Street from its junction with Factory Street to its junction with Compton Street from 8am on Saturday September 18 until 6pm hours on Sunday September 19 and at 8am on Saturday September 25 until 6pm on Sunday September 26.

Pedestrian access will be maintained throughout the period. Alternative routes for vehicles affected by the proposed order will be via Tong Street ( the unaffected section), Rook Lane, Rooley Lane and vice versa.

Electrical works on or near Tong Street (the slip soad), Bradford has necessitated the temporary closure of Tong Street from its junction with Factory Street to its junction with Compton Street from 8am on Saturday September 18 until 6pm on Sunday September 19 and at 8am on Saturday September 25 until 6pm on Sunday September 26.

Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times during the works.
