A PUBLIC consultation on plans to transform Bradford City Centre ends tomorrow.

The multi-million pound Transforming Cities Fund scheme would see a section of Hall Ings pedestrianised, Jacob’s Well roundabout removed and replaced with an underpass, and other city centre streets such as Market Street, Bank Street and part of Sunbridge Road closed to traffic, with vehicles instead diverted down Well Street.

The plans will include the creation of new green space - with the extension of Norfolk Gardens.

Plans to revamp Bradford's transport network are 'once in a generation' opportunity

The current multi storey car park on Hall Ings will be demolished to create a new entrance to Bradford Interchange, a new South Bradford Park and Ride would be created next to Odsal Stadium and segregated cycle lanes would stretch from the city centre to Thornton along Thornton Road.

A consultation on the £80m scheme, which has been funded by the Government as part of the West Yorkshire Devolution Deal, began in July.

People have until the end of tomorrow (Wednesday) to comment on the plans. Another, more detailed consultation is expected in the Winter.
