TRAFFIC is queueing past multiple junctions on a motorway after a crash.

The collision happened on the westbound carriageway of the M62, between junction 23 (Huddersfield) and junction 22 (Rishworth Moor).

It was first reported at 10.35am, according to the AA.

A Highways England spokesperson said lane three was blocked, with a car stuck in the vehicle restraint system.

They also added that there was debris in lane three of the easbound carriageway, which caused issues heading in that direction too.

The crash has since been moved onto the hard shoulder and all lanes have reopened, with traffic - which had been held - released at around 12.30pm.

The eastbound side was also held until 12.20.

But there is still congestion in the area, with vehicles queueing as far back as junction 25 (Brighouse) on the westbound carriageway.

There are also residual delays on the eastbound carriageway too.

The AA is currently reporting that an extra 27 minutes is being added to journeys on the westbound carriageway and 15 minutes on the other side.

The average speed on both carriageways is at 15mph.
