THE inquest into the death of Glusburn teenager Ben Marklew is due to open and adjourn tomorrow, Tuesday.
The 19-year-old bricklayer and rugby player died after getting into difficulties in the River Wharfe near Grassington on July 22.
Police were called by the ambulance service at about 7.45pm to a report of a 19-year-old man in difficulty in the river.
He was pulled from the river hear Linton Falls, but despite tireless efforts from emergency services, he was unable to be saved.
Tributes poured in following his death, including from his family, rugby clubs and employees, RN Wooler & Co.
A funeral service was held on August 11 with his family asking for those attending to wear dress for a "Saturday Night Out". They asked for donations instead of flowers be made in his memory to be divided between the Upper Wharfedale Fell Rescue Association and the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.
The inquest opening will take place at the Old Courthouse, Northallerton. A date for the hearing in full will be made at a later date.
