A CAR flipped over on to its side following a police pursuit which ended with a crash on Leeds Road in Bradford this morning.

Emergency services were scrambled to the scene of the crash, which was on Leeds Road near the Laisterdyke junction, at 10.30am today.

An appliance from Bradford Fire Station was called to the crash to remove a passenger from the car, which had lost control when turning at the junction.

A spokesperson from the Bradford Fire Station said: "The car had flipped on its side as a result of a police pursuit."

It is understood that the driver had fled the scene and the passenger had to be released from the vehicle.

The spokesperson said: "The passenger was still in the car and we had to remove the windscreen to get him out."

It was believed his injuries were superficial.

It is also believed that the driver of the vehicle had been located by police.
