A BRADFORD TV doctor has called for the public to understand recruitment issues around GPs.
Dr Amir Khan, a partner at the Ridge Medical Practice in the city, has says negativity in the press about GPs has led to a divide among patients and doctors.
He says there has been years of underfunding in GPs services, adding the UK is more than 5,000 GPs short of its required amount.
But he claims medical practices cannot recruit anymore GPs.

We are 5000+ GPs short in the UK
We can’t recruit
We don’t want sympathy, we want you to understand
The problem isn’t your GP, it’s years of underfunding and disregard for workforce planning
Dr Amir, who is a regular on TV shows including Good Morning Britain and ITV’s Lorraine, tweeted: “The negativity in the press about GP is cultivated to divide patients and doctors.
