A BRADFORD woman has appeared in court charged with stealing bottles of whiskey from a city supermarket.
Laura Smith, 36, of Fearnville Drive, has been given a nine-month community order, including a drug rehabilitation requirement, for stealing three bottles of whiskey from Morrisons, Victoria Shopping Centre, Thornton Road, on July 26, 2021.
Under the requirement, Smith was ordered to have treatment for drug dependency.
She was also facing a charge of going equipped for theft not – not motor vehicle. This related to the same incident and was accused of having with her pliers for use in the course of, or in connection with, theft.
The same community order sentence was imposed for the second charge she faced. Smith, who pleaded guilty, appeared before Leeds Magistrates’ Court on August 26, 2021.
