A village in the Bradford district has been ranked as one of the best places to live in the UK according to a national survey.


The survey ran by Which found that Saltaire in Shipley ranked as the fourth best place to live based on categories such as food and drink, tourist attractions, and scenery.

The village gained four out of five stars for its peace and quiet and tourist attractions making them the highest-ranked categories.

Wells in Somerset and Castle Combe, Wiltshire beat Saltaire's destination score by one per cent but the top-ranked destination was Avebury, Wiltshire.

Overall, Saltaire's destination score was 87 per cent and was closely followed by Castleton, Derbyshire, which had a score of 86.

Each inland destination was ranked by 5,333 Which? readers and each score was based on overall satisfaction and likelihood to recommend the place.
