POLICE found a stolen motorbike which had been dumped and set alight in Bradford.

After being made aware of the redundant vehicle by West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service, Steerside Enforcement Team attended the scene in Holme Wood.

They identified the bike as an outstanding stolen one from Halifax.

Steerside had been on their way back from a Bradford South operation, with partners DVSA and Bradford Council, which focused mostly on commercial vehicles and taxis.

Several vehicles were checked and prohibited from being driven any further.

One example is a yellow van belonging to Bespoke, which having been initially prohibited by DVSA, was then seized as the driver was found to be uninsured.

Both himself and his employer will be reported for insurance offences.

Another van was checked by the DVSA and immediately prohibited due to a faulty handbrake along with other faults.

It will have to be repaired and pass a further MOT before it can be used on the road again.
