THERE has been a slight reduction in the number of hospital patients in the Bradford district with Covid-19, latest figures show.

The data is released weekly by the West Yorkshire Association of Acute Trusts (WYAAT).

The latest figures, correct as of August 26, show there are 70 patients with Covid at Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, a rise of one from August 19.

There are 13 patients with Covid at Airedale NHS Foundation Trust, a reduction of two from last week.

A WYAAT spokesperson said: "Since the end of May, when there were 42 Covid-19 patients across the six hospital trusts that work together as WYAAT, figures released today (August 26) show there are 328 people receiving treatment across our hospitals. 48 of those are currently in intensive care units.

"This additional demand means we are prioritising those in the most urgent medical need and the time you may wait at an emergency department for more minor treatment could be impacted and you may have to wait longer than anticipated."

Last week, the figure stood at 315, with 42 people in intensive care.

Here are the latest numbers (figure in brackets shows last week's number):

Airedale NHS Foundation Trust  - 13 (15)

Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust - 70 (69)

Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust - 64 (55)

Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust - 10 (9)

The Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust - 91 (90)

The Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust - 80 (77)
