BRADFORD music group Bad Boy Chiller Crew are set to be featured in a new six-part series for ITV documenting their upcoming UK tour.

The series, which will air on ITV2, follows the rappers on their tour, which includes a sold out homecoming show at St George’s Hall.

It is another step in the careers of the group, who started with skits on Facebook and Instagram before becoming bonafide recording artists, releasing their debut album Full Wack No Brakes, being played on BBC Radio 1, and a slot on the Dance Stage at this weekend’s Leeds Festival.

They have already featured in a documentary at the beginning of their career on Vice, which explored their roots and popularity in Bradford making catchy bassline tracks.

The series, of six 45 minute episodes, will follow group members Gareth Kelly, Kane and Clive as they embark on the tour, focusing on their close-knit friendship and how they are balancing their new found fame while staying true to their roots.

The content of their music, focused largely on drinking, drugs, driving fast cars and avoiding police, has drawn criticism from some but has proved largely popular with fans in Bradford and now across the country.

The series was ordered by Paul Mortimer, ITV’s Content Director, On Demand and Acquisitions, and commissioned by Satmohan Panesar, Commissioning Editor Factual Entertainment.

“They’re called the Bad Boy Chiller Crew for a reason…with outrageous hijinks and raw talent the boys will be sure to provoke and delight in equal measures,” said Mr Panesar.

“Bad Boy Chiller Crew are on the cusp of wave and this is their story; from hometown heroes to the country’s next big thing.”

The 11 date tour gets underway in October, with the boys coming home to Bradford for a sold out show at St George’s Hall on October 12.

Executive producers Nat Hill and Howard Cohen added: “The series will shine a light on the camaraderie, talent and lives of these Bradford born and bred rappers.

“They have been described by their own entourage as a ‘working class triumph’ and this series will follow how they juggle fame with sticking to their roots.”
