A BRADFORD TV doctor says it is criminal that 100,000 doses of the Oxford AstraZeneca vaccine are set to be binned.
Dr Amir Khan was reacting to reports the 100,000 doses of the vaccine in the UK will have to be disposed of at the end of this month when they expire.
He says these vaccines should have been taken to parts of the world before next week’s deadline for them to be binned.
Speaking on Good Morning Britain today, Dr Amir said: “This is really worrying. GPs have been highlighting this to Government officials for many months now.
"We have had this AstraZeneca vaccine sitting there and not being used. It is going to expire, which means we are going to have to dispose of it.
“It’s criminal really. There are parts of the world which haven’t had any vaccines at all and they could have gone there and it hasn’t been acted upon.”
