POLICE are appealing for information after a teenager was injured in a stabbing.
Officers were called to the scene at 5.50pm yesterday (Sunday) to a report a male had been stabbed in Fieldhead Parade, Birstall, and taken to hospital.
"Police attended and established a scene where the incident was reported to have taken place," said a West Yorkshire Police spokesperson.
"The 18-year-old male was located at hospital with a neck injury, which was found not to be life threatening.
"Enquiries into the incident suggest an altercation took place in the area at about 5.30pm yesterday and this is believed to be linked."
The spokesperson added: "Anyone who witnessed it or saw anything suspicious is asked to contact Kirklees District CID on 101 or by using the options on the West Yorkshire Police website.
"The crime reference is 13210425761.
"Information can also be reported anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555111 or online."
