A BRADFORD woman feels something must be done to improve the reliability of the electronic bus timetables at stops and in the interchange.

St Luke's Hospital employee Claire Holdsworth, of Baildon, catches four First buses a day to get to and from work.

She claims that every day at least two of those buses don't show up on time or at all.

Claire said: "What is the point in these live bus times in most bus stops these days? They can say your bus is due in five minutes for 20 minutes, it's absolutely pointless and so infuriating!

"I feel these have been a complete waste of money to have in the bus shelters and the Interchange.

"It is the same everywhere in Bradford. I speak to people all the time at the bus stops and everyone says the same thing. It is ridiculous.

"We'd be better just sticking to the old bus timetables behind the perspex at the bus stop and just wait and see when one fancies turning up."

A First Bus spokesperson added: "Bus services continue to adapt for customers during the pandemic and I’m sorry to read the frustrations about bus information and service delivery.

"Significant investment has been made by WY Combined Authority & operators in real-time information systems and technology such as the First Bus App which shows the live ‘bus on the map’ feature as well as live capacity.

"Working together, we continue to develop this technology to provide the most up to date information, including in the unfortunate situation a journey is cancelled, and we always welcome feedback on individual instances so that we can investigate further."
