A STUDENT at Bradford Grammar School has spoken after achieving 11 A*s in his GCSEs last week.

Krishan Patel said studying from home amid Covid-19 presented its challenges, but he still managed to get the outstanding grades despite the "tough" year students have had.

"The past year has been tough, with lockdown and school rules always changing, and constantly having to adapt to new environments", he said.

"Lockdown brought an independent aspect to my learning, but was also very tiring and draining, so I'm really happy to have got my results back now.

"I’m now going to sixth form to study maths, further maths, physics and computer science, and I’m determined to face the challenge that A-Levels will bring."

Mahesh Patel is the director of Premier Learning, a centre which Krishan attended for extra-curricular study.

He said he is “extremely proud” of Krishan following his achievements.

“Most of our students have suffered due to the lockdowns and have had to study at home, so it’s great to see a student from the local BAME community getting these outstanding results”, he said.

“We at Premier Learning are extremely proud of Krishan, as he has not had the easiest of rides, having to study from home for most of the year.

“Moving forward, Krishan is keen to find a career in Artificial Intelligence, and is aspiring to study for a degree in Computer Science at Imperial College London or at Cambridge.

“Krishan, as well as our other students, have benefitted from attending our Premier Learning Centre at Morrisons Enterprise 5.

“He has also learned how to do coding on our popular coding and robotics programme.

“We believe our local students have lost out on learning in schools, so Premier Learning Centre has provided much-needed catch up learning for them.

“Any students wishing to join us can do so by contacting me directly on 07808 524406. Our rates are only £10 per hour, and we are open seven days a week.

“We are Ofsted Registered, so parents can claim funding if they are eligible.”
