The need to find out more about the care provision available in your area is of vital importance.

The UK population is both an aging population and one which is enjoying greater longevity. So having a better understanding of the kind of care you can access is not just important for your elderly parents or relatives, but for you, too, after all, it is worth taking into consideration the kind of care you would like - if and when the time comes.

If you live in and around Bradford, then your first port of call should be Britannia Care. This year Britannia Care, in Girlington, is celebrating 30 years of being at the heart of care in the region. That will tell you something about the level of commitment to care and the high standards which underpins Britannia Care’s approach.

Bradford Telegraph and Argus:

There are several reasons why Britannia Care, founded by Mr Choudhry Khan and Dr Manoj Joshi, can boast about three decades of caring success; chief amongst them is that, at Britannia Care, they fully understand the cultural diversity of the region’s population.

"Along with myself and Britannia Care founder and director, Dr Manoj Joshi, we have, over 30 years seen our unique approach evolve and become the cornerstone of our strength and success," said Mr Khan.

“We are truly proud of the pioneering work we have done in providing care to people from incredibly diverse backgrounds,” added Dr Manoj Joshi.

Dr Joshi is proud of Britannia Care's deep Bradford roots and how the business has grown organically to refelect the area over three decades.

“As well as celebrating a 30-year track record of outstanding care, we are also a family-run business, grown locally within the community we serve and belong to," said Dr Joshi.

"Our vision is to become a beacon for the best of Bradford. We are so proud and grateful."

For registered manager, Nina Ricci, it's how Britannia approach delivering the care which sets them apart.

“We believe we are unique in our approach,” said Nina, “and along with Mr Choudhry Khan and Dr Joshi, we have, from the beginning, took essential steps in providing personalised care to communities that others were not."

Opened in 1990 in Girlington, Britannia Care offers a purpose-built care home, with the emphasis on the word ‘home’.

Said Dr Joshi: “For us, trust is paramount, and we are here to provide care without any compromises in meeting the needs of the people in our care. We are constantly working to improve the quality of life for our residents with compassionate care.”

Bradford Telegraph and Argus:

Being purpose-built, Britannia Care was able to include in the design important elements essential to providing high quality care, such as lift access to all floors, and corridors wide enough to accommodate supportive aids, all of which ensures residents have a place they can call their own.

There are also communal areas which includes a dining room, games rooms and several lounges, and there’s a fully functional commercial kitchen, too.

Deputy manager Mazhar Mahmood, is full of praise for the hard working staff at the Girlington home and the level of care they provide for a culturally diverse clientele.

“Our amazing, dedicated staff speak 11 languages between them," said Mazhar, "and are committed to our core values that help us to provide the best-possible care."
