A PERSON died on the train line linking Bradford Interchange to Halifax this afternoon, British Transport Police (BTP) have confirmed.
BTP were called to the line near Halifax at 12.46pm today following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
Paramedics also attended, however sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officers are working to identify the deceased and inform their next of kin.
The incident is not being treated as suspicious.
A number of trains operating between the two stations were cancelled as emergency services dealt with the incident on the line.
Customers who were expecting to board these services can still use their tickets on Northern services between Bradford Forster Square, Shipley and Leeds.
Disruption lasted until 4:30pm.
A BTP spokesperson said: "British Transport Police were called to the line near Halifax at 12.46pm today following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
"Paramedics also attended, however sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene.
"Officers are working to identify the deceased and inform their next of kin.
"This incident is not being treated as suspicious."
