TWO people have been arrested as part of police enquiries into the death of a Bingley man.

An inquest into the death of 34-year-old Adam Ashiq McFarlane was opened at Bradford Coroners’ Court earlier this week.

Mr McFarlane, of Broadway, Bingley, was reported to have taken cocaine on August 3, and went on to have a seizure as a result.

He was admitted to Bradford Royal Infirmary in cardiac arrest and subsequently died as a result of hypoxic brain injury.

Initial investigations found that the hypoxic brain injury was due to cardiac arrest and a seizure secondary to cocaine use. Mr McFarlane was described as being single and had been working as a car trader.

The inquest into his death was opened by assistant coroner Mary Burke, and adjourned until December 1 for further investigations to be carried out.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “Two men have been arrested as part of ongoing enquiries into the death of Mr McFarlane. Both have been released under investigation.”
