A TODDLER became a charity's youngest fundraiser by joining her nan and grandad on a seven mile walk from Shipley to Bradford City Centre.

Avie Morland-Pearson, who was turning two the following day, Rosie Archibald-Darcy and John Darcy raised a huge £538 for Age UK Bradford District by attempting their Walk of Ages challenge.

On Saturday, July 31, setting off with a loaded pushchair, balloons and collection tin, they, along with several other walkers, enjoyed the challenge of Bradford’s hilly streets.

Rosie said: "We did it! It was tough going but Avie totally smashed her first fundraising charity event.

"Thank you to everyone for all your encouragement and support for this amazing local charity."

Some of the other walkers continued on from the city centre to take in all six of Age UK Bradford District’s community hubs, walking a total of 24 miles from Shipley to Keighley.

The Walk of Ages is part of “Connections 21”, a campaign to raise awareness as well as funds for the charity so that they can continue to connect older people to the information, help and support, advice and activities that they need to live their best life.
