A WOMAN and her child were left distressed after a fellow passenger kicked up a huge fuss which caused a Bradford train to be delayed by almost an hour.
The woman was travelling to the city from Keighley on the 12:48 Northern train today when she witnessed a man become irritated because he had missed his stop.
According to her, he shouted and banged on the doors before pulling the emergency brake.
She added: "The 15-minute journey became almost an hour-long due to his actions.
"My eight-year-old daughter was scared as were the other passengers. We arrived in Bradford and were relieved to finally get off."
Northern confirmed that someone had forced the train to halt and that this caused many delays and cancellations in the area.
A spokesperson from the train company said: “Shortly before 1pm, a service travelling from Keighley to Bradford Forster Square was delayed after a customer on-board activated the emergency stop.
"The service was significantly delayed whilst the cause of the activation was investigated and, as result, several other afternoon services in the area were subject to delays and cancellations.”
