Our reader asks: Why can't some of that money be directed to NHS?
SIR - I hear on the news today that a player in the English Premier League could be paid (not earning, you only earn from what you have done!) over half a million pounds a week. This is absolutely vulgar. To play football for an hour and a half each week and not be involved in all the game makes a total nonsense of this type of payout.
The NHS is on its feet and if money like this is available, why cannot such money, or some of it, be directed in their direction?
