THE jury in the trial of a man accused of shooting dead a Bradford taxi driver almost 20 years ago has been sent home to resume its deliberations in the morning.
Ricardo Linton, 45, denies murdering Mohammed Basharat who was gunned down in the office of Little Horton Private Hire on Park Lane, Bradford, on October 20, 2001.
He also pleads not guilty to attempting to murder another taxi driver, Jamshad Khan, on the same date.
Mr Basharat, 33, was struck by two bullets, in the head and the mouth and died at the scene.
The gunman then turned his weapon on Mr Khan and pulled the trigger but the gun failed.
Linton has told the jury he was in London at the time of the murder.
The jurors began their deliberations this afternoon and were sent home by the trial judge Mr Justice Lavender shortly before 5pm.
The trial continues.
