TWO men were taken to hospital following a double stabbing in Mirfield on Saturday.

One of the men received treatment for minor injuries, West Yorkshire Police said, while the other remains in hospital after suffering "more serious injuries".

Enquiries are ongoing, police added, with officers also saying that the stabbing is believed to be an "isolated incident".

A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: "Police were called to the Greenside Estate in Mirfield at 10.28am on Saturday 7 August, following a report of two males who had been injured.

"One of the males was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

"The other male, who suffered more serious injuries, remains in hospital at this time.

"Enquiries are ongoing into the incident by Kirklees District CID, but it is believed to be an isolated incident."
