A SPECIAL range of cards by local artists have been released by online retailer Thortful ahead of Yorkshire Day on August 1.

The annual celebration of the greatest place on Earth, God’s Own County, takes place on Sunday, as people come together to celebrate everything that makes Yorkshire so great.

To mark the event, Yorkshire based artists have designed a range of cards celebrating Yorkshire and its unique dialect.

Creators Do You Puncuate, Memelou and Oh My! Designs have released the range of Yorkshire-themed cards perfect for any occasion, including Yorkshire Day itself as well as birthdays and Mother’s Day.

Sarah Pearce, Head of Marketing at Thortful, said: “Yorkshire has arguably the most iconic and recognisable dialect throughout the entire UK.

“At thortful we love the quirkiness of the phrases used and are delighted to offer our customers the chance to send greeting cards which celebrate everything that Yorkshire has to offer.”

Bradford Telegraph and Argus:

The cards feature iconic Yorkshire symbols, such as the White Rose of York, Yorkshire terriers and even Henderson’s Relish, as well as classic Yorkshire phrases such as “ee by gum”, “ta love” and “bairn”, as well as a couple of ruder options.
