PLANS have gone in retrospectively after work to an outbuilding breached planning control.

The work on the outbuilding, in Idle Road, Undercliffe, looks nothing like the original plans approved in 2019.

Planning officers visited the site in January and found the building to look nothing like its original plans; it was supposed to have a single window and door, but when visited officers found had a majority glass front and prominent signage area.

Officers said the development was “detrimental to visual amenity” due to its design and appearance and ordered the work be undone or changed to what was actually approved by the end of March 2021.

The changes haven't been made, and now retrospective plans for the work that’s been done have been submitted.

The retrospective plans are for the installation of shopfront, pitched roof and external wall render, much different to the original plans from 2019, which were for the change of use from a store to a bakery and shop, with an extension to the front, which were granted.
