A 70-YEAR-OLD cyclist has been rushed to hospital after a crash with a car on a major commuter route today.
The collision happened on Harrogate Road (A658), near The Oddfellows Arms.
Yorkshire Ambulance Service was called to the scene at around 12pm, where a male cyclist and vehicle had been involved in a crash.
West Yorkshire Police was called to Harrogate Road at 12.38pm.
A spokesperson for the force said the cyclist suffered leg injuries in the crash.
A source at the scene said the man was on the floor, before being moved onto an ambulance bed.
The ambulance then rushed the cyclist to Bradford Royal Infirmary (BRI).
Many people expressed their concern for the cyclist on Facebook, but the police spokesperson said his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
Harrogate Road was partially blocked and the crash worsened traffic issues on the road, caused by the ongoing improvement works at Greengates Crossroads.
But it was cleared just over three hours later, at 3.18pm.
