AN inquest into the death of a man who passed away after being knocked down by a car has been opened.
John Wayne Naylor, 51, died at Leeds General Infirmary (LGI) on July 12.
Police were called at about 11.40pm on Sunday, July 11, to a report a man had been seriously injured on Indus Street, Heckmondwike, by a black Mercedes A-Class which then made off from the scene.
Mr Naylor was taken to the LGI with life-threatening injuries but passed away in the early hours of Monday morning.
A next inquest hearing date was set for October 27.
A 26-year-old man arrested in connection with the death of Mr Naylor has been released on bail.
Two women and another man who were also arrested have now all released with no further action taken.
A 35-year-old man arrested in connection with an affray at the location, prior to the collision has been released on bail.
