THE REFURBISHMENT of a swing bridge will result in a road being closed for more than two months.

The works, on the bridge across the Leeds and Liverpool Canal, will result in Granby Lane, Riddlesden, being closed for approximately 20 metres either side of the bridge from 8am today to 5pm on Sunday October 10.

Alternative routes for vehicles affected by the traffic order will be available via Granby Lane (the unaffected section), Granby Drive, Bar Lane, Bradford Road and vice versa

Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.

Gas works on or near Chat Hill Road, Thornton, will result in the temporary closure to traffic of a length of Chat Hill Road from a point outside number 36, to a point outside Chat Hill Farm. This will come into effect from today, and will be in force from 9am until 3pm each day until Sunday August 8.

Alternative routes for vehicles affected by the proposed order will be available via Chat Hill Road (the unaffected section), Thornton Road, Cemetery Road, Clayton Road, Bradford Road, Town End Road, Low Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrians will still be able to use the route.

Work on the telecommunications system on or near Heights Lane, Eldwick, will necessitate the temporary closure of that lane between a point outside number 18A to number 22. This will apply between 9.30am on Wednesday August 4 and Thursday August 5.

Alternative routes for vehicles affected by the proposed order will be via Heights Lane (the unaffected section), Walsh Lane, Lady Lane, Parkside, Otley Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.

Construction works on or near Weetwood Road and Rosse Street, Girlington, will result in the temporary closure of Weetwood Road from its junction with Thornton Road for around ten metres in a northerly direction. Alternative routes for traffic affected will be via Thornton Road, Whetley Lane, Walker Drive, Weetwood Road (the unaffected section) and vice versa.

There will be one-way traffic on Rosse Street from its junction with Thornton Road to its junction with Syedna Way. Alternative routes for vehciles affected by the proposed order will be via Syedna Way, Ingleby Road and Thornton Road.

The proposed orders will come into effect at 8am on Monday August 2 and remain in force until 11.59pm on Friday August 27. Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.

Gas works on or near Ellerton Street and Thornbury Road, Bradford has necessitated the temporary closure to traffic on Ellerton Street, from its junction with Killinghall Road for approximately 10 metres in a westerly direction, and also on Thornbury Road, from its junction with Killinghall Road for approximately 10 metres in an easterly direction

Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.

Alternative routes for vehicles affected by the order will be Ellerton Street via Ellerton Street (the unaffected section), Chelmsford Road, Hipswell Street, Barkerend Road, Killinghall Road and vice versa. Thornbury Road’s alternative route will be via Thornbury Road (the unaffected section), Leeds Road, Killinghall Road and vice versa.

The order will remain in force until 6pm on Friday August 13.
