A BRADFORD man has been jailed for stealing electrical items from a city shop.

Tafandwa Chapwa, 39, of Oak Avenue, was committed to prison for 12 weeks for stealing £83 worth of electrical items from B&M in Harrogate Road, Bradford.

He was jailed for the offence after failing to express willingness to comply with a proposed requirement for a community order because the offence was aggravated by being committed while he was subject to a community sentence.

Chapwa, who pleaded guilty, appeared at Bradford & Keighley Magistrates’ Court on July 6, 2021.

At the same hearing, he was re-sentenced for the original offence he faced.

He was committed to prison for 12 weeks, to run concurrently, for stealing a blue tooth speaker from a Sainsbury's in Huddersfield on January 21, 2021.
