A BRADFORD TV doctor says the ‘pingdemic’ has ‘caused chaos’ at his city surgery this week.
Dr Amir Khan says three doctors were forced to self-isolate this week after being ‘pinged’ by the NHS app, alongside two nurses and two receptionists at the Ridge Medical Practice in Cousen Road where he works.
He added essential workers should be exempt from self-isolating if they are ‘pinged’ if they have received both doses of the coronavirus vaccine.
Emergency measures to protect food supplies will see thousands of workers at up to 500 critical sites potentially avoid the need to self-isolate if identified as a contact of a coronavirus case.
Speaking on Good Morning Britain today, Dr Amir said: “It’s a really difficult balance.
“It has caused chaos in our surgery and for our patients.
“Essential workers should be exempt, especially if they have been double vaccinated. I think that’s really important.”
