A CREATIVE Bradford boy has been shortlisted for a national competition to design a dream playground.

James Gibson, aged eight from Wyke, has been announced as one of 15 shortlisted entries in the competition.

Bargain Max has launched a nationwide competition asking children aged up to 16 years old to design, draw and describe their dream playground.

The competition asked children across the UK to design, draw and describe their dream playground with as many imaginative features as they want.

It saw a number of entries across the UK and Ireland, with parents and guardians entering their children’s designs via Facebook and Instagram.

Kay Morgan-Bingham, James’ mother, said: "The main feature of the park is a large climbing frame which has a zip line at the top where children can go down the zip line, round the park to a trampoline at the bottom. “There are also swings for people to play on, James is proud of the drawing!"

All 15 shortlisted entries can be viewed at bargainmax.co.uk/design-your-dream-playground The overall winner will be announced from Monday, July 26. The winner will be crowned as Britain’s Next Playground Designer and will win a year’s supply of free toys alongside a lifelike 3D visual of their dream playground created by Architect’s Bowman Riley.
