BRADFORD, like the rest of the UK, basked in glorious sunshine and record temperatures this weekend; and here are the best photos from it.

The weekend was the hottest of the year so far, with the mercury topping out at 30 degrees in places.

Baking sunshine and next to no wind on Saturday made it an absolute scorcher, and Sunday was much of the same but with a slight cooling breeze taking the edge off.

Bad weather doesn't stop Telegraph & Argus Camera Club members from getting out and about with their cameras - but sunshine definitely helps - and this weekend they were out and about in force getting great photos of the sun-baked district.

Olga Scatchard was out in Oakworth, where she captured a lovely shot of horses taking a break from the sun and enjoying some respite in the shade.

Danny Virr's shot was much closer to home, perfectly capturing the fun that sunshine brings - in paticular the cooling off, with a great action shot of a young girl on a slip and slide in the garden having fun in the sun.

The heat can all get too much for some, as Jakub Pylkowski and Clint MaGrah captured in their shots.

Jakub's candid shot found a man taking a break to sunbathe in the sun, while Clint spotted a cat taking a "siesta", having a peaceful snooze in the shade taking a break from the sun.

Trisha Bennett took a trip out of the district, visiting the popular Pennines spot of the Halo in Haslingden, and captured a great shot of the sun-soaked village.

Daz Allon was even further afield, and selflessly had a very early wake up in the Lake District, traipsing to the summit of the 950 metre tall Helvellyn to capture an incredible shot of sunrise over the North West's jagged peaks.

Ann Smith captured two swans enjoying a swim in the cooling waters.

Philip Bailey ventured out after dark in Keighley on Sunday, taking advantage of the clear skies to capture the International Space Station passing over the town and the moon.
