FORMER Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn is one of a number of speakers set to appear at a rally in Bradford this Friday to show support for the Palestinian people.

It will take place at City Park, beginning at 5pm, and has the slogan 'Free Palestine, no to foreign wars, no to Islamophobia'.

The rally, which has been organised by Bradford Stop the War Coalition, will include a stellar cast of speakers.

As well as Mr Corbyn, Lindsey German - the national convenor of Stop the War - will also be speaking, as will Salma Yaqoob, a former candidate in the Bradford West constituency.

Richard Burgon MP, former Lord Mayor of Bradford Mohammed Ajeeb and rapper Lowkey, amongst others, are also expected to be in attendance.

The rally has been organised to raise awareness of the many terrible conflicts and wars which continue across the globe, and which concern so many of Bradford’s residents.

These include the ongoing conflict in the Gaza Strip and the occupied West Bank in Palestine, the war in Yemen and the conflict in Kashmir.

Stop the War has been at the forefront of protesting against wars since its foundation in 2001.

Bradford residents have now come together to relaunch Bradford Stop the War, under the leadership of Arshad Ali.

Similar rallies have been held in the city over recent months, criticising the Israeli regime for alleged human rights abuses against Palestinians, amid violence in the region which has left many dead, injured and homeless.
