AN ‘enthusiastic, highly motivated’ person to work with small to medium-sized businesses is being sought by Craven District Council.

The council is seeking a full time ‘rural business development officer’ to work with businesses across Craven, but with a special focus on Bentham and Settle.

The successful applicant will play a key role in helping to deliver a European funded project to provide rural enterprises with access to the space and support that will enable them to overcome barriers to creating new job opportunities, improving performance and raising productivity, says the council.

They will initially be based at the council offices, in Belle Vue Square, Skipton, but will eventually be located at the new Langcliffe Quarry Enterprise Centre, which is expected to be completed in early 2022.

They will be responsible for developing a programme of networking and business support for enterprises focusing on parts of North Craven.

The position is full time with the successful applicant paid around £32,000. They will work as part of a small, friendly team, and will have the satisfaction of knowing they are making a genuine difference to businesses and to ensuring Craven and the Dales continues to be a ‘great place to live and work’ says the council.

Applications need to be in by Sunday, July 18. To find out more, visit the jobs section at: https://www.cravendc.gov.uk/
