POLICE have arrested a man on suspicion of wounding with intent after a woman and man were hit by a car.

West Yorkshire Police was called at 7.12pm yesterday evening to Dene Road, in the Wibsey area of Bradford, to reports that two people had been struck by a vehicle.

It is believed the vehicle left the scene.

A man and a woman, both in their thirties, were rushed to hospital.

The woman had serious leg injuries and it is believed she was pinned against another vehicle in the crash.

She was taken to Leeds General Infirmary (LGI), according to reports.

The man was found to have suffered hip injuries and it is believed he was taken to Bradford Royal Infirmary (BRI).

Officers arrested a 32-year-old man later that night on suspicion of wounding with intent.

He remains in custody today.

Police are now appealing for information about the incident.
