A NON-EXECUTIVE director at Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust of six years has been appointed Trust Chair of Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.

Selina Ullah has also been Vice Chair and Senior Independent Director of the Bradford trust since 2019 and cannot wait to get going in her new role.

Selina, who is a board member and former Chair of Bradford-based charity Muslim Women’s Council, said: “I am really excited to be joining Derbyshire Healthcare and taking forward the great work that has been undertaken by all trust colleagues over recent years.

"I was drawn to the role given how the values can be seen and felt across the organisation. I look forward to being part of the next stage of the Trust’s journey.”

Muslim Women’s Council was set up in 2009 and are led by the needs of Muslim women. Their mission is to ‘empower women for the benefit of society’.

They believe when women are empowered this benefits the whole of society, and that women are an effective force for social change.

Bana Gora, CEO of Muslim Women’s Council added: “I am very pleased on Selina’s new appointment at the Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.

"Just as Selina held the reigns for Muslim Women’s Council from a fledgling organisation to a leading UK charity, I am confident that she will demonstrate the same outstanding leadership with the trust.
