PLANS to turn a former hairdressers into a restaurant or cadfe have been granted by Bradford Council.

The application was to turn the former barber shop in Keighley Road, Frizinghall, into a new restaurant/café style business.

In the application, it states that food and drink bought at the outlet will be “mostly consumed on the premises”.

The premises has stood empty for a number of months now, having previously been a barber shop for at least a decade.

In approving the plans, Bradford Council planning officers said the change does not require planning permission as it comes under the same usage class.

However, initial plans to made exterior changes to the site have been removed so that the application falls within the scope of the application.
