A WOMAN who worked at a Bradford Morrisons for 23 years received a massive send off yesterday as people lined the streets to pay their respects.

Colleagues, family, and friends dressed in pink gathered to watch the coffin of Charlotte Partridge, who sadly passed away on June 9 after a two-year long battle with cancer, go past a place where she was cherished by all.

Charlotte had worked at the Enterprise 5 store in Idle since the age of 23 and was a valued member of staff for more than two decades.

Mother-in-law Michelle North said: “Charlotte was really appreciated by her colleagues at Morrisons.

“They have been absolutely fantastic all the way through her illness. Prior to it she only had three or four days of due to sickness in 23 years.

“They pulled out all the stops. Even at the very end when she could hardly walk, they would let her go in and do a couple of hours on the checkout, just to give her some normality.

“Sometimes she couldn’t come in during the pandemic because she was a vulnerable person but once she had her injections, they let her come back in as long as she could cope.

“She was always positive, even through her illness. She loved her job and the people she worked with.”

Charlotte was originally born in Liversedge before moving over to Undercliffe after getting married to husband Ian. She was a huge animal lover and adored her six cats.

Unfortunately, Covid denied her completing a stacked bucket list. Michelle talks about a great gesture Chester Zoo made before Charlotte’s passing.

She added: “Charlotte wanted to go to Chester Zoo, so I contacted them during lockdown and told them about her being in her final months, and asked is there any way we could go to the zoo? They said they are really sorry that they couldn’t do that.

“However, they did say as soon as they were open there are free tickets for her to go. They left six tickets for her to go free of charge with her family and carer.

“I had arranged to take her but the night before she got rushed into hospital, so she never got there. We want to take her ashes to Chester Zoo and walk around with her. The tickets are still on offer, and they said if we would like the zoo to be Charlotte’s final resting place they can arrange that as well.”
