A CLECKHEATON-based charity has received a part of a £5,000 cash boost from a building firm.

Barratt Developments Yorkshire West has continued to support the communities in which it builds by donating £1,000 each to five charities across Yorkshire as part of its Community Fund initiative.

The building firm, which includes the Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes brands, has supported five charities, including Cleckheaton’s TSV Gymnastics, thanks to its Community Fund initiative which sees the home builder donate £1,000 to a different local charity or organisation each month.

Other causes supported over the course of the first half of 2021 include Thornes Juniors Football in Wakefield, Skillz Academy for Girls in Barnsley, Pigs in the Woods in Huddersfield and MHA Mapplewell Manor in Barnsley. The donation has helped each organisation continue its important work to support communities across the region.

Ian Ruthven, Barratt Developments Yorkshire West managing director, said: “We are always looking for ways to continue to support the communities in which we build, so we are thrilled that we were able to support these incredibly important charities and organisations through our Community Fund.

“All of these organisations make a significant impact and difference in communities throughout the region, so we are really looking forward to seeing how the donations will help each of them continue to do their important work.

“We look forward to working with more charities and organisations across the region who will benefit from our Community Fund throughout 2021.”
