SIR - I read with interest, and some amusement, the letters from S Perkins and S Stocks, suggesting that Bradford Council build a car park, instead of a sports centre, at the top of Squire Lane. Their objections are that it will increase traffic on an already busy road. Surely a sports centre will have parking for far less cars than a car park, so there would be less, not more traffic.
Also why should the rate payers of Bradford pay to have a car park built for the NHS? To me the answer is to stop all parking on Squire Lane, apart from residents and disabled people. Also parents should be encouraged to not pick their little darlings up from school in a car, but get them to walk!
That way everyone benefits.
