JET2.com and Jet2holidays waved passengers off to Jersey from Leeds Bradford Airport today, as the airline restarted their flights and holidays programme to the island.

The flight marks the start of the leading leisure airline and tour operator resuming their three-weekly services (Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday) to the largest of the Channel Islands for Summer 21 from Leeds Bradford Airport.

With weekend and mid-week services available until September 25, and the flight time being just over one hour, holidaymakers in the region can enjoy a long weekend or a longer break.

Due to strong demand, the companies will operate Summer 21 flights on a larger 189-seater aircraft, offering holidaymakers in Yorkshire plenty of choice and flexibility when it comes to visiting Jersey this summer.

Customers can also enjoy ATOL protected package holidays through Jet2holidays with a range of three to five-star accommodation available in Grouville, St Helier, St Brelade’s Bay, St Peter and St Aubin.

Steve Heapy, Jet2.com and Jet2holidays chief executive, said: “We are delighted to resume our flights and holidays programme to Jersey from Leeds Bradford Airport.

“It is fantastic to be back in the air and recommencing our award-winning flights and ATOL protected package holidays to the Island.

“We have seen strong demand from customers who are looking to enjoy a holiday on this stunning island, and we expect this level of interest to continue with sales continuing to perform well.

“We look forward to taking more customers on holiday to Jersey and other destinations this summer and getting back to doing what we do best – taking customers away on our award-winning flights and Real Package Holidays.”

Vincent Hodder, Leeds Bradford Airport chief executive, said: “Resuming connections to the Channel Islands will provide a welcome boost to the airport and delight prospective holiday makers from across the region. “Demand for these flights is expected to be strong, as families look for a well-deserved break closer to home.

“It’s great to see Jet2.com and Jet2holidays back in the air and we look forward to welcoming passengers back safely this summer.”
