POLICE have seized three separate vans and reported their drivers for various offences including dangerous parts and lying to insurers.
West Yorkshire Police's Roads Policing Unit (RPU) was out in Bradford yesterday when officers stopped and dealt with three vans for similar issues.
PC Claire Gray pulled over a white Ford Transit as it had a cracked windscreen.
Checks showed the vehicle had been banned for dangerous parts and it was also on false plates.
The driver could not provide any insurance details, so they were reported and the van was seized.
Meanwhile, RPU officers stopped a white Mercedes van as it appeared to be overloaded.
They checked inside the back of the vehicle to find it was empty, but the rear suspension was snapped, which was causing the issue.
Police issued an immediate prohibition on the van, as it was in a "dangerous condition".
The driver was also uninsured and had a revoked licence.
They were reported for the various offences and the van was seized.
Finally, officers from the team stopped a white Mercedes-Benz Sprinter because it was showing as being banned.
Police examined the vehicle and found it had the same defects, so it was immediately prohibited.
The driver had also lied to his insurance company and the policy was cancelled.
Officers seized the van and reported the driver.
