CITY will welcome 6,000 supporters back to Valley Parade next month - with the club’s pre-season schedule now confirmed.

The Bantams will host home fixtures against Doncaster Rovers and Blackburn Rovers in July ahead of the 2021/22 season, which will be treat as ‘pilot’ test fixtures and see home supporters in attendance.

The visit of Richie Wellens’ Doncaster side on Saturday, July 17 will see 2,000 spectators return to Valley Parade, while a 4,000 capacity will be implemented when the Championship outfit make the trip across the Pennines a week later.

Pre-season will begin for Derek Adams and his men on Monday, June 28, when they commence training at their Woodhouse Grove base.

The Bantams will then head to Scotland for a four-day training camp on Wednesday, July 7, returning home - from the outskirts of Glasgow - on Saturday, July 10.

City’s first friendly will see them travel to Horsfall to face neighbours Bradford (Park Avenue) on Tuesday, July 13, where they will aim to retain the Tom Banks Memorial Trophy in the annual fixture.

The day after, a Bradford City side will make the short trip to Eccleshill United, with both fixtures getting underway from 7.30pm.

Adams’ team’s first home encounter will be held on July 17 - where 2,000 supporters will watch the Bantams entertain Doncaster, from 3pm.

Midweek trips to non-league neighbours Guiseley (Tuesday, July 20) and Brighouse Town (Wednesday, July 21) will then follow, with both games kicking off at 7.30pm.

Four-thousand supporters will witness City take on Blackburn at Valley Parade on Saturday, July 24 (3.00pm), before the Bantams travel to National League side Chesterfield on Tuesday, July 27 (7.30pm).

City’s current pre-season friendly schedule is as follows:

The capacity for pre-season fixtures at Valley Parade will respectively remain at 2,000 and 4,000 should England remain in its current stage of the roadmap out of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Details on ticketing and admission for these fixtures will be confirmed in due course, though only home supporters will be able to secure their place.

If still on the roadmap at the time of the fixture, a maximum of 675 supporters will be admitted when Derek Adams’ side visit Vill Powell’s Brighouse Town team on Wednesday, July 21 (7.30pm).

If no restrictions remain in place, there will be no limit on capacity - with tickets set to be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Ticketing and admission details for City’s remaining away pre-season fixtures will also be confirmed in due course, with supporters expected to be admitted at fixtures.
