SIR - There are 4.9 million people living with diabetes in the UK, and 13.6 million people at risk of developing type 2 diabetes.

It is a serious, relentless condition which can bring with it many challenges.

Everyone experiences diabetes differently and, this Diabetes Week (June 14-20) we’ll be telling people’s #DiabetesStories from all corners of the UK. We’ll be looking back on an extraordinary year and looking forward to what’s to come. And we’ll be celebrating the incredible diabetes community.

There are lots of ways to get involved, from designing posters to organising community events. There will also be plenty of activity on Diabetes UK’s social media channels - including a film telling the story of the last year for the diabetes community, by the community. You’ll find more information about our plans for the week, and how you can get involved, here: diabetes.org.uk.

So, let’s come together this Diabetes Week and tell our #DiabetesStories - to help raise awareness of what life with diabetes is like, and show other people living with diabetes that they’re not alone.
